The House of Lords Select Committee on the Long-term Sustainability of the NHS has slammed the ‘short-sightedness’ of successive governments for failing to plan effectively for the long-term future of the health service and adult social care.

This is something I have been advocating for a few years and I would go even further, that this should cascade down to each local area, being that the aspects of social care and the related health areas should be locally administered by a new authority other than Local Authority and local NHS. Only then will the two areas be effectively be running together and there will be no conflicts of interest or gaining of points over one or the other authorities.
