Extraordinary courage and professionalism from all the firefighters attending the Grenfell Tower inferno and from other emergency persons present.
This should not have been allowed to occur as ‘lessons should have been learnt’ from previous tower block fires, but they have not been.Now is the time, as it should have been before, for those decision makers to be made accountable for their actions or more likely their inactions, for only then will the lessons be learnt.
You cannot or should not play games with people’s lives for we all deserve more than that. Anger from what has occurred is inevitable, but anger does not effectively produce constructive results, the populus needs to gain access to the system, because only from within will actions be started and with continued internal pressure be concluded.
Unfortunately it is a slow process as large public bodies move so slowly and they are not open and transparent and in many instances extremely untrustworthy.
My heart and prayers go out to all, who are and have suffered from this tragedy.
