24 hours later, Trump claims he misspoke in Helsinki, meant to say Russia did have reason to meddle in election

President Donald Trump attempted on Tuesday to clarify his widely criticized comments in Helsinki, saying that he had misspoken when he said a day earlier that he did not see why Russia would have meddled in the election. Trump said Tuesday he meant to say he did not see any reason why it wouldn’t have been Russia that interfered.

“I thought that I made myself very clear, but having just reviewed the transcript…I realized that there is a need for some clarification,” Trump said Tuesday at the White House. “The sentence should have been…’I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia’.”

At the Monday press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump said about election meddling in 2016: “(Putin) just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

Trump also said on Tuesday that he had “full faith and support” for the American intelligence community and supported their assessment that Russian meddled in the 2016 election, but continued to claim that others could also be responsible.

“I have felt very strongly that while Russia’s actions had no impact at all on the outcome of the election, let me be totally clear in saying…that I accept our American intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place,” the president said.

But, Trump added, “Could be other people also, there’s a lot of people out there.”

  1. Trump is unbelievable in more ways than one in that he lies and then tells more lies to change his oriinal lies.

He prides himself on being a good businessman, how can that be, for taking many of his discussions this week.

In the UK he berated May one day for being weak and her plan for Brexit was rubbish and the next hes saying she is great and so is her plan.

In Russia he said his Intelligence forces were wrong and Russia dis not interfer in the 2016 elections and when he came back to the US he states the opposite because he was ‘misspoke’.

These are only 2 of his comments this week and there have been many others, this week and the weeks preceding. Who in business could trust a, so called, businessman who say made a deal and then the nest day said he did not, or did not make a deal and next said he did.

No one would do business with a person like that he feels he is a plain speaker, but in effect he speaks with a ‘Forked Tongue’, in effect he says what he feels he needs to anytime he opens his mouth, one to his supposed foes and another to his supposed friends. He can not be trustedeither by design or by some other reason, say medical.

In any respects he should not be leading any country, let alone America, for America and the World are not safe while he is around.
