  1. It is good that the social care media and social care organisations are starting to take on board the state of the crisis in Social Care, which I have been pushing for over the last few years.

However, it is still only campaigning for Government increased funding to ensure all Care Providers have the required finance to pay their care workers at least the National Living Wage.

This is a good starting point, which should have been occurring many years ago.

But to really stabilize the care profession the funding needs to be increased to ensure all care workers can be paid at least the Real Living Wage, currently £9.30 per hour for workers 21 and over outside of London.

I have the petition ‘Solve the crisis in Social Care’ for sufficient funding is but one of the areas in need of action as improving the quality of care is also a major requirement with many others.

Please see the following for further information

As you are aware Christmas 2019 has now come and gone and we now have the New Year 2020.

However, if the ‘Crisis in Social Care’ is not Solved soon there will not be many more New Years for the care, required for persons in need of care, to be provided by Local Authorities due to their lack of funding.

This will then have a much greater impact on health care provision, which is itself in crisis.

I have therefore created my latest petition, please follow the link

Also hoping you had a Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year.
