  1. This is what occurs when railways are kept short of investment for years and years and this could have happened within the UK. In some respects it did when the rail network was a nationalised industry has it was starved of investment and was used politically and why the country in which Rail Travel was invented was left behind.

    Privatisation did not work as planned, but was that the fault of privatisation or the contracts which were used.

    HS2 is a very big step, but is a way of catch up, but why was it started from London and not from the Northern areas, perhaps because everything revolves around London, where investment has come with a ‘drop of the hat’, while the North has been left way behind.
