Marcus Rashford hits back at Therese Coffey’s blunt response to his #HolidaysWithoutHunger plea

The good news is ‘Marcus Rashford says ‘THIS is England 2020’ after expressing delight at Boris Johnson U-turn, https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/marcus-rashford-free-school-meals-boris-johnson-u-turn-twitter-a9568636.html

But the bad news is that Therese Coffey MP is still the DWP’s Work and Pensions Secretary, for her Tweet ‘“Water cannot be disconnected though.” ‘ to Marcus Rashford’s Tweet ‘“When you wake up this morning and run your shower, take a second to think about parents who have had their water turned off during lockdown” ‘

For that response she deserves to be sacked and maybe stand down as a MP.

For she is ignorant and vindictive, but then that could relate to many Tory MPs.

Govt Newspeak

The DWP’s Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey faced anger over her ‘dismissive’ reply to the footballing campaigner – whose wish still hasn’t been granted by the government.

Marcus Rashford is embroiled in a row with the Tory welfare chief after she replied to his free school meals campaign with a “flippant” tweet.

The 22-year-old Manchester United footballer renewed calls today for the government to continue its £15-a-week free meal vouchers for children over the summer holidays.

In a plea to MPs he tweeted: “When you wake up this morning and run your shower, take a second to think about parents who have had their water turned off during lockdown”.

But Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey replied: “Water cannot be disconnected though.” what a nasty reply

The DWP chief refused to budge, instead offering a £63m council fund, despite warnings of a surge in child hunger and unemployment this summer.
