While I agree that the NHS should get this extra £3 billion, why is it there is no mention of Social Care.
Money has been found for many areas within the UK, but not Social Care. Will Social Care be the dumping ground again if there is a second wave.
We hear that famous saying, ‘Lessons will be learned’, but I have yet to see where and when lessons have been learnt in any situation.
There was the ‘Clap for Carers’, but you asked, virtually anyone and they will say it was for the NHS and while they did deserve it, so did Social Care Carers.
It is nothing new for social care to be denied funding, for I have seen this for at least the last 40 years, but expressly so for the last 11 years.
I was and still are to angry about this that I created the petition, Solve the crisis in Social Care, https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/solve-the-crisis-in-social-care
For the vulnerable within the UK to be safeguarded then action to solve the Social Care crisis needs to be urgently done, for if not it will come that there is no Social Care to speak of in the near future.
While funding is a major issue it is not the only issue and for further information see,
