  1. Previously I have not been someone who wants to abolish the House of Lords, but this total arrogance of these Lords, now makes me wonder if the House should be abolished.

To compare themselves to persons on the Minimum Wage or National Living Wage, just shows how out of touch these Lords are. For a person working 35 hours per week on the National Living Wage will only get £305.20 and not the £162 a day the Lords get and for some only for turning up and leaving some minutes later. They may not even enter the Chamber, but could while away the day at their subsidised Restaurant and Bar.

This is after their expenses scandal, some years ago.

However, we do need a second chamber, if only to control the excesses in prospective legislation coming from the MPs in the House of Parliament.

To have another elected chamber is not, I believe the way forward, but the Lords does need to be streamlined and this could be from looking at their attendance record and their seen ability when in the House of Lords.

The Lords need to be put in their place and the removal of their subsidised restaurant and bar should be the first step, for who has a bar, subsidised or not in their place of employment.
