Harry and Meghan’s comments, in which they called on American voters to ‘reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity’, have been widely interpreted to be a swipe at president Trump.

There appears to be much confusion here, for Harry and Megan did wish to remain part of the Royal Family, continue with his military and Charity connections, but wished the freedom to live their own lives and finance themselves.
But it appears this was not possible, even though this is so in some of the European countries.
They were told to relinquish all ties with military and charities, not to use the royal connection for any other interests, pay back any money advanced for property refurbishment but could retain their titles. Much of this they have already done.
As to political engagement, they are not to any large extent doing this with the UK politics, which can not be said of Prince Charles, who relishes his involvement.
They do not appear to be involved in any scandal, which can not be said of Prince Andrew and his titles has not been taken away.
Princess Margaret in her life tended to do her own thing, which could have brought the Royal Family into disrepute should the press be as they are now and there was no social media to speak of.
Yes. the titles could be withdrawn as they were for Princess Diana, but, while she did not use it the titles did remain in the public arena.
Why not let Harry and Megan live their lives and do what they wish in American politics, for someone of note needs to comment on Trump.
I say all the best to them.
This is my right within Freedom of Speech as it is yours if you disagree. I have done this in a polite way, which should be done in return, but I know it will not.
