More than 200,000 Brits to lose £150 Warm Home Discount – see who’s affected – Mirror Online

Amid soaring energy bills the government is set to bar 210,000 people claiming DLA, PIP and Attendence Allowance benefits from claiming discounts to heat their homes

Should the Mirror be correct on this assumption then is it very surprising as you would expect persons on these disability benefits would be certain to qualify.  But, then again this is the Government, who by previous actions don’t appear to want to help disabled people. Benefits, by definition should be a benefit and not a punishment, but this Government appears to all it can to punish disabled people.

Disabled people didn’t wish to be disabled, as for many it is from birth and for them to live reasonably it usually costs more than for non-disabled people. Many also will not be able to supplement their available money by working and if they can, it would be more than likely be of very poor pay and their benefits could be then reduced accordingly, so in effect they would not be better off financially by working.

A very, very uncaring Government, but then what’s new there.
