America shuts Kabul airport as Dominic Raab is forced to turn to China and Russia for help in Afghanistan
I rarely agree with anything the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair, ever says, well in effect I never have, until now, when he talks about, Joe Biden’s ‘imbecilic’ retreat from Afghanistan.
For it is imbecilic, as while, military forces would have to be withdrawn eventually, it should not have been until all or most of the persons who wished to leave Afghanistan had already left. For to not do so, will as we have seen, cause panic and chaos leading to deaths and distrust in Western powers.
The decision to withdraw troops was originally from former President Donald Trump that should have been a clue as to how misguided it was, but Biden took what he thought was the easy way out and a vote winner. Well he won the vote in the US Presidential elections last, but could well lose the re-election in 2024, due to his decision to continue with the troop withdrawals.
Or could Biden be a reincarnation of Trump, not a good thought to have, but could be the answer to the obvious lack of thought behind the decision and the misguided continued decision to not see how misguided it was.

The video of the distraught girl went viral as the Taliban established control in Afghanistan. Under the previous Taliban rule, women lost many of their rights and were subjected to brutal treatment.
‘No one cares about us’ says Afghan young girl, well, not totally correct for many people do, unfortunately they are not in positions of power and able to influence decisions.
Many countries have tried to change Afghanistan, but none have ever succeeded, countries from both the West and East.
This latest situation was a mistake or more correctly misguided decision taken over 20 years ago, for the then President of the US, one George Bush Jnr, he went in to make a political point not to help Afghans. many bad decisions have been made since, but the worst was Trump, who was the Ace of bad decisions and that was compounded by Biden in his wish to become President.
The withdrawal was always going to take place but efforts to bring people out should have been completed before any withdrawal of troops was ever announced. however, not even that would have saved this very unfortunate young girl and many others in Afghanistan.

A new report in The New York Times about a June meeting in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump and top officials and advisers describes shockingly racist outbursts by the president that reveal deep–seated bigotry toward immigrants, particularly those who aren’t white.
Reporting that Trump is a racist isn’t really news to anyone at this point, and the Times’ story focused mostly on charting the evolution of the administration’s policies on immigration since taking office last January. Those efforts began with the bungled and chaotic rollout of Trump’s illegal Muslim ban, which prompted nationwide protests and a sweeping judicial response.
But the words attributed to the president are just awful.
Here’s what the Times said happened:
According to six officials who attended or were briefed about the meeting, Mr. Trump then began reading aloud from the document, which his domestic policy adviser, Stephen Miller, had given him just before the meeting. The document listed how many immigrants had received visas to enter the United States in 2017.
More than 2,500 were from Afghanistan, a terrorist haven, the president complained.

A soldier who lost his legs in Afghanistan will no longer get treatment in England – because he’s Scottish.
Callum Brown, 28, still endures horrific pain from injuries caused by a bomb blast six years ago.
But now the former soldier is to lose the treatment and medication he has relied on.
He said yesterday: “I am sitting here without my legs because I fought for this country.
“This is the ultimate slap in the face. I am still in shock and can barely get my head around it.”
Former lance corporal Callum, from Ayr, has been under the care of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
The hospital, where he was treated when he was first airlifted home, has dedicated and specialised facilities for military casualties.
But on his last visit, he and wife Laura were stunned to be told he could no longer go there because he doesn’t live in England.
Callum fears the decision could even cost him his life because he will no longer have access to the specialist treatment available at the hospital.
