How have European leaders reacted to Theresa May’s resignation? | Euronews

European leaders have been paying tribute to British Prime Minister Theresa May after she announced she will quit on June 7.

While they lined up to praise her determination and courage, it was clear Brexit was never far from their minds.

It is unclear who will succeed May, but if the favourite Boris Johnson prevails that could see a very different tone from London over the UK’s divorce from the EU.

Euro Parliament poll shows Labour must still honour Brexit referendum to win power

This poll shows clearly that support for Brexit has not waned, but this is not reflected in Parliament and certainly not in the Lords, so who will win the People or Parliament/Lords.

Unfortunately in both Houses they have their own agendas and Brexit is not in them.

For Brexit not to occur what will the outcome be for the Country and Parliament/Lords, perhaps the abolishment of at least one and maybe more.

Truck drivers support Brexit despite fears of no-deal chaos | Euronews

Just off the M25 motorway, which encircles London, truck driver Tim gets ready to settle down for the night. He drives all over Europe, a crucial cog in Britain’s supply chain.

Despite fears of a no-deal Brexit bringing chaos to his industry, it’s not something he worries about.

“If we crash out with no deal, the European community and things like that, they’ll quickly want to sort the problems out that come with that, because it affects them as much as it does us. That’s the important thing to remember.” Tim Drury, British trucker said.

“What’s interesting speaking to drivers at this busy truck stop, where up to 150 bed down every night is that while for many, their jobs take them right across Europe, there’s some really strong support for Brexit – regardless of whether that comes with a deal or no deal,” Damon Embling, Euronews correspondent said.

“But in the wider supply industry, there is a worry that extra border checks could delay trucks, could delay deliveries – and hit business hard, if Britain crashes out of the EU,” Embling added.

Brexit latest news: Left wingers launch shock attempt to keep Britain inside EU | Politics | News | Express.co.uk

A group of leftie MPs, campaigners and trade union leaders have joined forces for the pro-EU tour, dubbed ‘The Left Against Brexit’.

The campaign will visit cities including London, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham in an attempt to change people’s opinions on Brexit.

It claims the UK’s impending exit from the European Union has been “built on an agenda of racist scapegoating”.

Labour MP Catherine West and Green Party co-leader Caroline Lucas are among the politicians backing the bid to thwart Brexit.
