There is discrimination and anti this and that in every area, but why should anyone be so, surely we are all similar but with different view points.

There are grave injustices also in many areas and in these instances it is right that these are shown to be what they are.

Freedom needs to be respected and in doing so the views of all should also be respected.

But, where these views give rise to discrimination of those who don’t hold our own views this is totally wrong.

Yes, what was done to the Jews over centuries and especially by Hitler and his Henchmen in the 1930/40s and perhaps the creation of Israel was the best solution for the Jews, but, not for the Palestinians for to create Israel their lands had to be taken over. Although through history who was in control of these lands has been changed many times.

For peace to be achieved peace has to be established, but neither side trusts the other and each have their own militants and those who wish to be left alone.

But for lasting peace a trusted settlement for now and ever has to be achieved, but it is doubtful it will be, especially anytime now.

So, there is anti feelings in all quarters, but these views should be respected, especially by political parties not directly involved.

So, Dee Howard views should have been respected by the Labour Party and especially Sir Keir Starmer and he should not have been discriminated by both Labour and Starmer.

Labour, which was created as a party of inclusion of those who were being oppressed should be leading in the campaigns for inclusion of everyone and not just certain people with beliefs. It should not be a Party of the left or right, but of total inclusion.

Do we need political parties? In theory, they’re the sort of organization that could bring Americans together in larger purpose

Americans are not the first to fret over the potential harm that parties can inflict. But parties can also promote the common interest.

For a democracy there needs to be more than one source of a political agenda for there needs to be an element of choice otherwise it is not democratic. However, for a true democracy it depends on the element and freedom of choice.

For in Russia, while in theory there is more than one political party, but effectively there is only one, as there are strict limitations placed on any others and certainly on members of these others.

In America we are all aware of Democrats and Republicans, the two main parties but there are some minor parties being Libertarian, Green, Constitution, and Alliance parties, but their share of the vote is insignificant compared to that of the Democratic and Republican parties.

While in the UK there is Labour and Conservatives who tend govern mostly, but there is also the Liberal Democrats, with the Scottish Nationalist in Scotland, Plaid Cymru in Wales, and in Northern Ireland, Sinn Féin, Democratic Unionist Party, (DUP), Alliance Party of Northern Ireland, Ulster Unionist Party, Social Democratic and Labour Party, and others. Any who win seats in General Elections or Bi-Elections are entitled to sit in the UK House of Commons in London, but in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland they also have their own Devolved Assemblies, although the Northern Ireland Assembly is not currently sitting due to a dispute with the DUP.

Now the definition of a democracy is: the belief in freedom and equality between people, or a system of government based on this belief, in which power is either held by elected representatives or directly by the people themselves. (Cambridge Dictionary)

But, I believe that a true democracy is not only persons governing by being elected by the population on political party agendas, but then govern not only for those who elected them, but for everyone of the population, which may not be the same. So, in the UK during 1918-2022 the share of the vote for the elected ruling party has been less than 50%, so not for the majority of the population. Even those persons voting for whichever party they did, it can’t be said that they agreed with everything that Party was standing for. In the UK both the name of the candidate and the party they are with are both mentioned on the ballot paper in each said Constituency  so, it can’t be assumed that everyone who voted was for the party or the candidate. The winning Candidate who then becomes a Member of Parliament, (MP) is supposed to represent all of the persons in the in the said, Constituency, not just those who voted for them, but in many instances they could be voting on Party lines, just as can be seen in the applauses in Bidens American Address.

It is my belief that when voted in Party politics should be put on one side and the ruling assembly be run on what is best for the whole country and not what is best for some selection of the country, that would be a true democracy and where it is seen not to be there should be immediate accountability and not waiting for the next election.

With the overthrow of Roe v Wade the Supreme Court have made America no longer the ‘Land of the Free’, if it ever was.

You may argue that if women don’t wish to have babies, then they should not undertake actions in which they could become pregnant, but do they really have that choice in respect of RAPE and maybe incest. If men could be able to carry an unborn baby and then give birth, then maybe abortions may not be necessary, but in those instances a rapist would need to be caught in time.

As now women are not free to live their lives as they wish to and while the abolition of abortion rights is bad enough that may not be the last actions against freedoms from this Supreme Court. For now they could move onto birth control, same sex marriage, LGBTQ rights and many more, for religion and politics have no place in dealing with legalities, but Human Rights have.

Not only is it withdrawing human rights, but are, in effect, creating situations where the health of women will be of grave risk and could be a cause of their deaths.

To do so the Supreme Court will, in many respects, be equal to the Taliban and other Islamic zealots, for Christian zealots are just as bad as Islamic zealots, if not more so.

The Supreme Court are, in effect, abusing women by withdrawing their rights, for now there is no equality in America.

Wednesday’s session started with the testimonies of Catalan government officials and ended with the beginning of the “expert phase.”

– Jordi Martínez Soler, a social media advisor for the Parliament, explained that he managed Forcadell’s social media accounts in Autumn 2017 and explained the content of the tweets he tweeted during that time.

– Ricard Gené, who was part of the Catalan National Assembly (ANC)’s secretariat at the same time as Carme Forcadell, explained that the role of Forcadell, currently accused of rebellion, was as a ”representative and not an executive.”

“Forcadell was not involved in elaborating the ANC’s roadmap,” he said.

– Rosa Maria Sans, who is the head of management of the use of government facilities and equipment by non-profit organizations at the Catalan Department of Labour, Social Affairs and Families, explained how was his work during the 2017 Autumn.

The Scandal of UK’s £15.1 Billion+ Elderly Cash Cows. ‘The hottest investment sector of the decade’.

This is but one of many scandals within the Caring Industry, so called.

Not only are residents not always cared for sufficiently, but in some respects neither are the care staff, with many, if not all on the National Living Wage or just slightly more.

With such low pay are we encouraging people to work in the care industry or is it the reverse.

There is a national shortage of Care Workers, especially within the Home Care sector of the industry. With the responsibilities that care workers should undertake they should be paid much more, which in turn could lead to the industry become much more fully staffed. In which case some providers would not just employ all who apply, but be selective to ensure only good quality carers are employed.

Then the Service Providers could be scrutinised fully to ensure all providers are providing a good quality service. This would not. well not initially, have any impact on the Safeguarding legislation, but may mean that we more good quality staff the home care part of the industry could be more equipped to provide more good quality care within a persons own home.

It is with this in mind that there is a petition – Pay all employed carers the Living Wage. By providing an increase hourly rate this may be a start to improve many aspects of the care industry.

I am involved in this Petition project based on the Care Workers within the Care Industry.

This industry is in crisis, as is the Health Service, but within Social Care this crisis is even greater. This in turn will create even more pressure on all aspects of the Health Service. Therefore, action is needed to minimise the Social Care crisis and pay paid carers a reasonable wage is one of these actions, so there is now a petition.

We all know that there is a major crisis in Social Care not just in Sheffield, but all over the UK. This is in a large part due to the lack of persons willing to come into the Care Industry, of which the low pay is a prime factor.

Parliament are aware and have formed a Cross Party Committee to look at funding, recruitment and pay for Care Workers in the Care Industry.

We need this Tory Government to end Austerity Cuts to Local Authorities and then increase the Grants to these Authorities so they can fund Care Service Providers to be able to pay their care workers at least the Living Wage.

The care sector needs to recruit 128,000 new workers each year to replace those who retire or leave, new research has found.

Some months ago I’d seen a sign go up on a slightly dilapidated Victorian house – Alzheimer Nursing Home

And driven past its silence most days, wondering about the lives inside.

I saw a large dinning table and chairs through its windows but never a person.

Short plump ladies in blue overalls went in and out .

Once a white aproned man stood smoking outside and a black suited lady alighted a 4 by 4..

But no residents.

Then last week a tall older lady sprinting along the road caught my eye.

Without bag, or key .dressed in a spotlessly white cardigan and patterned, belted polyester dress, her neat dyed auburn curls freed in the breeze.

Her face ecstatic.

Appearing to embrace  the air, the sun and trees and the euphoria of freedom.

Rarely had I seen such a look of joy and expectation.

There are three main takes on Sajid Javid’s recent decision to revoke Shamima Begum’s British citizenship.  The first is tabloid. (Good on yer, Saj!)  The second is broadsheet.  (Frightful! Uncivilised!)  The third is merely cynical.  The Home Secretary, this view has it, wins either way.  If the courts uphold his decision, he gets the credit.  And if they don’t, those limp-wristed, bleeding-heart, liberal elite judges get the blame.  Either way, he wins – and up go his ratings in the ConservativeHome Cabinet League Table.

We are as world-weary as the next media outlet.  So we suspect that the impact of this decision on his future leadership prospects will have floated across Javid’s mind.  But one soon grasps, on trying to think it all through, that there is much more to his decision than that.

Let’s start by focusing on Begum herself – this exploited, warped, unrepentant, atypical and seemingly not-very-bright teenager who is evidently as much of a stranger to British norms as she is to the traditional, classical Islam.  She fled Britain when she was 15, married a Dutch jihadi, and reportedly now has a baby, two of her children already being dead.

Colorado Set to Vote on Slavery in 2018 – FreedomUnited.org

Colorado voters will head to the polls this November to vote if slavery should be abolished once and for all in the Centennial State.

You might be confused why slavery is still up for debate in 2018, but in fact the state’s constitution technically says slavery is legal as a form of punishment.

Article II in Section 26 of Colorado’s constitution states that there “shall never be in this state either slavery or involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime, whereof the party shall have been duly convicted.”

This year, Colorado voters will get to decide on Amendment A if the “except” clause should be removed, thus changing the wording to “There shall never be in this state either slavery or involuntary servitude.”

While it may be certainly concerning that Colorado has yet to outdo slavery in its technical sense, it’s not the only state in the country to still practice such an article. More than 15 states in America cite slavery as a legal punishment. It’s the same for the American constitution.

This is because the Thirteenth Amendment from 1865 outdid the majority of slavery except for involuntary servitude as a legal penalty for crime. It’s an issue that American Civil Liberties Union has also highlighted.

ACLU’s Nathan Woodliff-Stanley told CNN that taking out of the slavery article would effectively close “the door on the possibility of future abuses, and it also sends a positive message in a time of great division in our nation.”

Jumoke Emery, who works with Abolish Slavery Colorado, explained that two years ago the same amendment was brought up by local legislators on the ballot in the state. However, unclear wording left voters wondering if the amendment called for getting rid of slavery or keeping it intact.

The Trial Against Catalan Political Prisoners Gets Closer

The countdown to the trial against Catalan political prisoners has already begun. This week itself ended the deadline for the defenses to ask for the revocation of the instruction, which will surely be dismissed by the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court. Thereafter, the trial court can present its conclusions from the investigations and the opening of the trial can be decreed.However, the prisoners’ defense will seek to block it until their appeals are resolved.

The defense estimates that the trial will begin in January.And that this could last for about two months, just before the campaign for local and European elections begin.However, they suspect that the Supreme Court could intend to initiate the trial in November in order to take the defense by surprise and undermine their strategy.

Until now, the opening of the trial has been delayed because the defense has appealed the instructions of Judge Llarena and the provisional orders of imprisonment. The recusations…

How many Muslim women actually wear the burka in the UK? It’s probably less than a few thousand – The i – Weekend Reads #55

Given the reaction of some parts of the media, one could be forgiven for assuming that Europe and the rest of the Western world has become besieged by burqa-clad women. The “fear” is now so rife that empty bus seats in Norway were mistaken for a group of women wearing the burqa.

Meanwhile, in a much derided stunt in Australia, far right leader Pauline Hanson wore a full-face covering burqa into the senate chamber. Hanson’s aim was to prohibit Muslim women from covering their faces and to get the burqa banned in the country.

To look at it, the burqa is simply a veil which covers the body and face – and yet it is also sometimes associated with oppression, terrorism, and extreme religious beliefs. Some burqas only have a mesh screen for the wearer to see through. The niqab, on the other hand, is a face veil worn with a headscarf which leaves the eyes uncovered, while the hijab is a scarf which covers the head and neck. In Europe, the term “burqa” is used to refer to women who wear robes to cover the body and face, but their eyes may be left uncovered, as seen in the main image of this article.
