DWP Slammed By Judge For Trying To Rely On Evidence Of Disgraced Capita Assessor Alan Barham

The DWP are so out of touch with reality,

Firstly they should be aware to the numerous assessments from Capita assessors and others where there quality is very much in question

Secondly this is expressly so, for in this incidence for the named assessor in this article it states ‘Alan Barham was discredited by the Channel 4 “Dispatches” programme, following undercover reporting in 2016.’, so the DWP should have been well aware of the poor quality of assessments done by Alan Barham

also has stated in the article, ‘Capita dismissed Barham and he was found guilty of misconduct by a professional standards tribunal in 2017’

So, were the DWP not aware of the above, which, if so, indicates a lack of knowledge, which they should have been aware of, if they are deemed to be professional and a body of ‘note’.

The alternative is that the DWP could not careless  about claimants and their only wish is to refuse as many claims as they can and then pursue through the legal system when they are challenged, when the evidence is so conclusive that their challenge will be dismissed.

Not only is it not respecting the claimants, but it is gross misuse and completely inadvisable use of funds.

So, it is down to gross incompetence or deliberate acts of malice, either of which one should not expect from a Government department, but do find is being done on numerous occasions

With many thanks to Benefits And Work.

An upper tribunal judge prevented attempts by the DWP to rely on evidence of a disgraced Capita assessor who said on one occasion that he had completed an assessment on a claimant before they had even walked through the door and boasted of earning £20,000 a month.

Alan Barham was discredited by the Channel 4 “Dispatches” programme, following undercover reporting in 2016.

Barham told the undercover reporter:

“The money? It was ridiculous. I was getting around 20 grand a month, most months.

They’d pay around £80 an assessment for the first 8 assessments, then they paid £160 an assessment for 8-14, then they paid £300 per assessment for 14-21. . . we was flying through them, because of that money. That’s 20 grand a month.”

In relation to a claimant who had had a leg amputated, Barham said:

“I’d literally finished his assessment…

”I have it on good authority that CCHQ have told Salisbury cons assoc. that they must select a retainer candidate ….”

This is all wrong and disgusting.

If everyone is correct and CCHQ have instructed the Salisbury cons assoc to pick a Remainer candidate, then CCHQ should be told where to go. No wonder the Chair as quit. What is the point of having a local association if they can not proceed as they wish.

Whoever at CCHQ was responsible for this instruction should be dismissed forthwith.

If the Tories lose this election then it will be the fault of CCHQ, have they been infiltrated by Labour, Lib Dems, etc or are they just incompetent?

Breaking: Leadsom resigns from Cabinet | The SKWAWKBOX

Tory chaos goes up a gear with what may be first of series of resignations to pressure PM May

Andrea Leadsom has resigned from her Cabinet position as Leader of the House of Commons.

In a letter to Theresa May, Leadsom blamed failure to deliver Brexit and a breakdown in government processes for her decision and urged May to step down:

Scandal of patients fined for dodging prescription charge – despite being exempt

So the DWP and NHS are not talking to each other, or not talking effectively to each other, what a surprise, who would have thought that could happen.

Anyone, except those in Government, DWP and the NHS are they fools, no, but they have no concept of working together.

They believe they do, but they are solely mistaken as they did remain in their own areas and only share what they believe they have to share.

They are not equal partners and will not deal with anyone outwith their areas, especially the persons who are affected by their workings and especially their blunders.

Incompetence, but what is new, they do it all the time.

Openness, Transparency and Honesty are the requirements that need to be enacted, but will they be, I doubt it.

DWP cut disability allowance because assessor failed to turn up

When will this ridiculous system stop for Capita, in this instance, but also Atos are not fit for purpose. Time and time again these companies and DWP are shown to be stupid, cruel, not caring and down right evil, but still the system goes on.

Where is the justice for the claimants, how many more unjust sanctions are going to be given before the authorities call a stop.

Unfortunately never as this is just what the DWP want to occur for they will not be happy until every claimant is deceased, for this is what these sanctions are therefore.

Where is the Law and Order, Oh, it is the Government of the day, so therefore there is no authority to correct these wrong, except by appealing..

It is clear that savings was not the agenda for any of these benefit systems be they ESA, PIP or UC, as the costs have multiplied due to the extra work, time and expense of the appeals.

If savings had been the reason for these benefits, every effort to ensure mistakes were not being made and that every claimant was dealt with correctly.

It is not just the sanctions, but who cannot trust many of the assessors to assess the claimants correctly for they have falsified many assessment reports, by reversing what had been said, making up areas of the assessment reports, the list is endless.

The Government are going out of their way to stop people receiving justified benefits and ignoring all that is going wrong with everyone of the assessment companies.

If it was not for legal system which ;luckily is, in most respects, independent of the Government, or is not influenced by them, then hardly anyone would be receiving welfare benefits.

But this is not the only area of Government actions that are wrong for there is austerity, the cuts are hurting the most vulnerable within the UK and it is clear for everyone to see.

The Government is getting away with ‘Murder’ and they should be brought to book for their incessant killing of vulnerable people.

Put the Government in prison and throw away the key.

Stop UK lies & corruption

Michelle Moloney, 40, who suffers from bipolar disorder type 2 and severe anxiety, was left unable to buy groceries after it was wrongly claimed she failed to attend an assessment.   In reality it was the assessor who failed to carry out the home-based assessment.

Even though it was the assessor’s fault this didn’t stop the DWP cutting off Michelle’s lifeline.  DWP’s letter stated “..we don’t think you’ve given us a good reason for this“.

Michelle complained directly to Capita who were meant to carry out the assessment on behalf of the DWP.  Capita still failed to put things right until being contacted by The Independent.

Hunt refusing interviews as NHS cancels all non-urgent ops and outpatients

In spite of public anger over the absence of Transport Secretary Chris Grayling today as a major increase in rail fares was announced, Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has refused requests for interviews as news broke that NHS England is telling hospitals to cancel all non-urgent operations and outpatient appointments for the whole month of January.

This is far from the first time that Hunt has gone ‘AWOL’ – or hidden – during an NHS crisis.

Last winter, as the NHS struggled through the 2016/17 winter crisis, Hunt disappeared for weeks before finally emerging to give a weak interview to the BBC in which he stated there were ‘no excuses’ for the NHS disaster – before making a list of excuses and blaming all kinds of things for it.

Except himself, of course.

Now, as hospitals all over England are told to cancel thousands of operations for a whole calendar month – on top of cancellations already made in December – the Department of Health (DH) has,

ATOS Home Visits: One Reader’s Experience

The gap between us and them is for ever becoming larger, who really cares about us, certainly not the Government, Atos, Maximus and Capita, they only care about themselves.

Same Difference

Many thanks go to reader Alan Philips who shared his wife’s experience with ATOS in our comments. He has kindly allowed us to publish his comment as a post in itself.

Alan Phillips
My wife was called on the afternoon of Friday 5 August. To Inform her that she would be seen by a home visit officer at 10:15 the following Monday (8) August. My wife explained we did have an appointment at 11;00 at the local hospital but the caller stated it wouldn’t be a problem the visit would take around 15 minutes. Monday came 10:15 came, and went. As did 10.:30. Visitor from ATOS no show! At 10:50 left home for hospital, 11:00 my wife’s phone rings – Its ATOS!! Where are you? We make appointments between 10 and 12. They don’t make appointments on the quarter hour. Basically calling my wife Kim, a liar!! We said we…
