Miley Cyrus Puts a Wrecking Ball into Trump
Well said, Trump picks and choses who he attacks in relation to the audience he is endeavouring to impress. If you look at some of his sponsors his attacks could easily transfer to other ethnic communities. Within his supporters some appear to just be listening to what appeals to them and would, apparently not listen to what does not appeal to them and if you analysis his speeches there are in many respects contradictory.
If he becomes President how will the world view his rhetoric for to attack and insult some of the other leaders in the world, could easily have devastating consequences for the future of the world. Today no country is an island, especially one with so many weapons of mass destruction.
Mike over at Vox Political has put up a piece reporting that pop chanteuse Miley Cyrus has given her succinct opinion of the New York Nazi, Donald Trump. And it wasn’t approving. She described him as ‘a –ing nightmare’, and in the colourful demotic of contemporary rap, expressed her physical disgust and wish to leave the country.
Quite.
I realise that Cyrus isn’t exactly everyone’s musical cup of tea. She was Hannah Montana, but after growing up she decided to make her act much more raunchy, to the angry dismay of moralists, and the delight of Daily Mail journalists as they rushed to their keyboards to knock off stories about what an evil menace to western civilisation she is, and how twerking should be banned, with full pics so you can share the outrage too. But she’s done something cool here. And she’s right: Donald Trump is indeed a nightmare.

The Young Turks on the Sheer Craziness of Michael Savage
In my last blog post, I posted a piece from Secular Talk discussing Newt Gingrich’s statement to Fox & Friends that they had created the political Frankenstein’s monster that is Donald Trump, now currently rampaging across America. Kulinski stated that he thought Gingrich was slightly wrong in that it wasn’t just Fox & Friends who were responsible for Trump, but the entire Far Right milieu. For twenty years or so they have been pushing a very nationalist, anti-immigration agenda, very similar to Trump’s. All he has done is to make it absolutely blatant, without the coded language previous politicians and right-wing pundits have used to disguise it. They’ve loudly denounced ‘political correctness’, and the result is Donald Trump, who very loudly proclaims that he is not ‘politically correct’. Hence the misogyny and derogatory comments about women and immigrants, particularly Muslims and Mexicans.

Trump Mocks Sikh Protestor at Rally
Trump is extremely dangerous for if he becomes President, his unstable behaviour and his outlandish statements could be the final tipping point to WWIII.
This video comes from the 26th of last month – January, 2016. It shows Donald Trump sneering at a Sikh protestor wearing a turban and holding a banner saying, ‘End Hate’. The guy is grabbed by Trump’s stewards and guided – or manhandled, depending on your point of view – towards the exit. As he goes, Trump asks ‘Was he wearing one of those hats?’ It appears to be a reference to the guy’s turban, which Sikhs wear for the same reason they don’t cut their hair and have beards: it’s part of their religion.
The incident occurs just when Trump is in full-flow about the al-Qaeda terrorists in 9/11 flying the planes into the Twin Towers. I’m not sure this is a coincidence. In Britain, the first victims of the backlash against Muslims after 9/11 were Sikhs, because Osama bin Laden was wearing a turban in his propaganda video…

Trump and the Rounding Up of Arabs and Muslims in America after 9/11
I’ve been blogging about Trump’s Fascist demands to prevent Muslims entering the US on the grounds that they represent a terrorist threat, simply through the actions of what is a tiny number of extremists. He also wants Muslims already in America to be registered. Along with his comments about building a wall to keep out Mexicans, his organisation’s suspicion of Black workers, and the violence he has encouraged at his rallies against protestors and journalists, it is fair to call Trump what he is: a Fascist. Jewish Americans have been particularly alarmed at his violent xenophobia, and a little while ago there were demonstrations organised by Jews in 17 American cities.

Secular Talk on Trump’s Vagueness as Successful Rhetorical Strategy
This is a very interesting piece from Secular Talk, in which Kyle Kulinski discusses a piece in Reuters analysing the immense appeal of what looks like Trump’s poor rhetorical ability. Trump contradicts himself, he cuts himself off early, and he uses vague words instead of better, more descriptive vocabulary. The article cites as an example a sentence from Trump’s speech demanding that Muslims should be stopped from entering America. He stated ‘We need to do something, because something’s going on’. Or something like that.
Now instead of being the mark of a poor speaker, it’s actually a very persuasive rhetorical tactic with its own technical term: enthememe. It’s convincing because it makes the orators hearers persuade themselves by filling in the blanks in the speech with what they want to hear. More On Trumps Cynicism and Exploitation of Veterans and Christians from The Young Turks
Okay, I realise that I’ve already posted three blogs in a row about Trump, and this is a further piece to the one I’ve already written about his cynical and exploitative attitude to veterans. But this stuff just keeps coming, and Trump’s still out there.
Trump organised a special event on the 28th January, a few days ago, for US veterans, and has been very loudly proclaiming that he’s raising funds for them. But when it comes to paying out, the reality seems to be somewhat different. A year or so ago, a charity for homeless ex-soldiers, Veterans in Command, wrote to The Donald asking for a donation. They finally got their reply last week. It was a bumper sticker, come through the post, with a handwritten note saying that he wasn’t going to make a donation.
