Israel’s military said the explosions were a response to the launching of incendiary balloons that caused fires in fields in southern Israel.

Here we have the classic no trust on both sides, similar to what we had in Northern Ireland, which is still not fully sorted, but peace has been kept to a major degree.

Israel are still allowing israeli settlemen ts on what the Palestians believe to be their land, so there needs to be some show of faith from Israel, otherwise nothing will ever be sorted. One side has to show contrition to show they can be trusted.

If there was one on whom I would expect this to be so, would be the Jewish faith for over the years they have and are still being subjected to acts against them, but they need to take the lead and to not be so distracted by act against them. To bomb Gaza as they are doing is way above the acts from Hamas. Surely a toned down response could be put in place.

It is easy for me to say, for I am not involved in either side, but in some instances eyes of others can be an advantage. This is so because the acts so far are not easing the situation just maintaining it and could well be making it much worse.

Quakers and Airbnb Boycott Israeli Occupation of Palestine

There are many areas and events that are not acceptable, the Israeli attitude to Palestinians, but also the Palestinians attitude to Israelis.

Both are wrong in some respects and right in others.

Whether it was right to create Israel is up for discussion, but to reverse this act is not right, but neither is it right for Israel to continue to fight Palestinians and for Palestinians to fight Israelis. Both have to come to accept what has been created and learn to live together for the common good for all.

The fanatics on both sides have to stop their aggressive actions, for it is the innocents on both sides that are suffering in the current climate and innocents should never be made to suffer on the whims of others.

I found this video from RT which was posted yesterday, Wednesday 21st November 2018 on YouTube. It reports that the Quakers have banned investing in companies which profit through Israel’s occupation of Palestine. The Quakers stated that

Iranian FM slams Israel over killing of Palestinian nurse : AMN

Mohammed Javad Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister, has condemned Israel for brutally killing a Palestinian paramedic near Gaza fence.

Razan Al-Najjar was shot dead by Israeli forces during the tenth week of March demonstrations returning to the Gaza border. She was one of the first female medical volunteers to treat protesters at weekly events.

“In a week when Israeli regime airs an absurd message to Iranians while its US patrons veto a resolution condemning its use of deadly force against unarmed protestors, its snipers murder a Palestinian medic tending to the wounded. Shame upon shame”, Zarif tweeted on his official account.

We all need to look at ourselves and judge who of us is racist as we all have a right of live. Just because someone, for whatever reason may be different is no reason to be abusive to each other.

Trump Brings Armageddon Closer by Moving American Embassy to Jerusalem

Yesterday, Trump announced that he was going to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This is what the Israelis have been demanding for years, but previous administrations have not given into them, because they were very much aware that this would set off a powder keg of rage and hostility across the Middle East. Jerusalem was taken from the Palestinians, and still contains a sizable Arab population. In this short video from RT America, they interview Max Blumenthal on the withdrawal this week from the United Nations’ cultural organisation, UNESCO, by America and Israel. The two countries have claimed that the organisation is profoundly anti-Semitic. He says that the Israelis would far rather have been in the organisation, haranguing it from inside. Blumenthal states that Israel was more or less forced to leave the organisation against its own wishes by Trump’s decision to quit. He makes the point that Washington would never have left it, if they thought it was biased against France or Spain. He also says that America owes UNESCO $500 million, which it now no longer has to pay back. Counterpunch: Palestinians Wish to Sue Britain for ‘Balfour Agreement’

Last weekend’s online edition of Counterpunch carried an article by Ramzy Baroud, reporting that 99 years after the Balfour Declaration the Palestinians wish to sue Britain for giving away their homeland to the Zionist colonists. Balfour was the British Foreign Secretary, who, in a note given to Walther Rothschild, the leader of Britain’s Jewish community on 2nd November 1917, in which he pledged British support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Baroud quotes the letter, which read

Norman Finkelstein on the Coming Break-Up of American Zionism: Part 3

Another audience member asks why it is that so many Palestinians survived in Israel, when the Israeli government was trying to cleans them. Finkelstein replies that in some areas, like Hebron, the Arab population survived because the Israelis needed them as workers. Galilee was mostly Christian, and the Arabs survived there because the Israelis were scared of offending the Vatican. And incidentally, their survival is further evidence that the cleansing of the Palestinians was not accidental, but was planned, as it wouldn’t have occurred otherwise. And some Palestinians survived by accident and sheer good fortune, like the Jews who survived the Holocaust.

I’ve put up several videos recently criticising Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians, and examining the growing disconnection – ‘distancing’, in the jargon of the sociologists who’ve studied it – of young American Jews with Israel. The speakers in these videos have included the Israeli historian Ilan Pappe, and the American historians and activists Norman Finkelstein and Elizabeth Baltzer, both of whom are descended from Holocaust survivors.
