Boris and his Government have made many mistakes leading to substantial failures during this COVID-19 pandemic, but the vaccine situation would appear to be the one and only success.
However, this does not discount the many failures.
Here it is the EU who have failed, but their over bureaucratic nature means they are unwilling to accept their failure and thereby are causing alarm and concern to an independent country (UK) to overcome this failure.
This can’t be allowed to happen and therefore the EU will have to backdown, something which is not akin to them.
If we were still in the EU none of us would have had any COVID-19 vaccinations, let alone being an European leader.
Unfortunately, the EU will not countenance any UK successes, the EU is showing isolationism and putting the EU first above all others, now where have I heard and seen something similar, well would you believe it, 4 years of President Trump in the US.
Trump at his worst, it is a pity there is no stop button on his mouth and Tweets, for this comment shows a complete indifference to those who have contracted COVID-19 and especially to those families who have had relatives who have died from COVID-19.
Even though he appeared to have had COVID-19 some months ago, or was this FAKE news to gain sympathy and a boost during the election period, his view of COVID-19 looks to be unchanged, in that he feels COVID-19 is not as bad as the medical experts are saying, even though the facts and figures show that it is a very serious condition causing many serious problems.
It is not just the short-term of COVID-19, but for many who have contracted COVID-19, it is the long-term conditions, which in some are extremely serious.
America and the World will not have much longer with a Trump Presidency, but the outcomes of his Presidency could have very serious effects, certainly on Americans but also all parts of the World.
For when he is the former President of America, what other mischief will he be involved with and what will the consequences be, for not only America, but all of us.
A new CNN poll shows an increase in support for impeaching President Trump, but it also shows that Americans still resist impeachment even though they support the ongoing investigations of him by Democrats in the House of Representatives.
President Trump’s approval rating remains steady at 43% approve, 52% disapprove.
Support for impeachment increased over the last month to 41% predominantly among Democrats and college educated whites, while 54% oppose impeachment.
The percentage of people who say Democrats are overreaching in their investigations of Trump decreased correspondingly to 40% over the same period, and 53% say that Trump isn’t doing enough to cooperate with those investigations.
47% agree that Democrats’ investigations of Trump are justified by the facts while 44% disagree.
67% want Robert Mueller to publicly testify before Congress.
66% believe that legislative cooperation between Congress and the White House is being negatively impacted…
THE BIG IDEA: President Trump couldn’t kill Obamacare legislatively. So now he’s trying to do so in a court of law, hoping that conservative judges might do what a Republican-controlled Congress would not.
In a triumphant mood on Tuesday, Trump touted the Justice Department’s unexpected request for an appellate court to fully strike down the Affordable Care Act.
“The Republican Party will soon be known as the party of health care,” he told reporters at the Capitol before lunching with GOP senators. “You watch.”
The reactions to his decision from the political and legal worlds highlighted how elusive Trump’s goal could be.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit is preparing to hear an appeal in a case challenging the law’s constitutionality after a district court judge in Texas, Reed O’Connor, ruled in December that the law is null and void because Republicans eliminated penalties for not carrying health insurance as part of their 2017 tax bill. That’s what prompted 20 GOP state attorneys general to file the suit.
This isn’t some dry academic debate. Court watchers say it’s within the realm of possibility that the very conservative 5th Circuit could strike down Obamacare in toto.
“I’ve been a student and a watchdog of the 5th Circuit for upwards of 50 years. I have great respect for the court, but the 5th Circuit can be a very wild card,” said Louisiana State University law professor Paul Baier, noting that it was this court that declared the Gun-Free School Zones Act unconstitutional. “Sometimes the 5th Circuit sticks its judicial neck out. … It certainly will depend on the panel.”
Robert Mueller’s investigative team saw a flurry of activity in the final weeks of 2018, as the special counsel’s probe passed the 18-month mark in what has become a sprawling investigation into possible collusion between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.
More than two dozen Russian nationals and entities have been charged for their alleged efforts to interfere in the 2016 election, and Mueller has indicted individuals with ties to the Trump campaign and administration.
Those swept up in the high-profile investigation range from President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen to lesser-known figures like Alex van der Zwaan, who pleaded guilty to making false statements to investigators.
Trump has repeatedly attacked the probe as a “witch hunt,” while Mueller has remained tight-lipped throughout, largely choosing to speak by way of court filings and criminal charges.
As the investigation heads into 2019, here is a timeline of the biggest developments.
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll Aug. 26-29, 2018 indicates the American public has turned sharply against President Trump. While his poll numbers have never been very good since taking office, it is clear now that the fallout from criminal investigations and prosecutions of his inner circle are having a dramatic effect on public opinion. Check out these stunning results:
60% disapprove of the President’s job performance while only 36% approve.
47% disapprove of his handling of the economy whereas 45% approve (keep in mind that current economic conditions are generally good, statistically at least).
45% agree that corruption has increased under Trump and just 13% say it has decreased.
63% support the Mueller investigation of Trump while 29% oppose it.
53% believe the President has obstructed justice in the Mueller investigation whereas 35% believe he has not.
When a tyrant comes to power they may wish to change facts and/or history and therefore it is good that the US website on Climate Change has been backed up by independent operators so that any changes that may be made can be fact checked for we do not want Fake News or Facts being released as the truth.
Here’s another act of resistance against the Trump regime. In this very short video, Farron Cousins from The Ring of Fire explains how, during Trump’s inauguration, a group of 60 climate scientists and hackers got together to go through the US government’s website to back up all the data on climate change. This information is now stored on servers in Europe. The scientists, technicians and hackers did so to prevent the information from being deliberately purged by Trump. The group intends to compare this with future releases of information on climate by Trump and his cronies in order to prevent him from falsifying evidence against climate change.
Cousins makes very short work of Kelly-Anne Conway’s statements that Trump believes in climate change. Conway is Trump’s spokeswoman, and she’s claimed that he believes in it, as he’s talked about it in the past. Well, no, he hasn’t actually. The only time…
We need to have a talk about the emoluments clause, among other things
emoluments clause of the Constitution in full (Article 1, Section 9, Clause 8): “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
