This season of “Homeland,” the TV espionage thriller that continues to grip me, is particularly dark and twisted. But it has nothing on real life, as President Trump’s regime and the deep state continue to wrap their oily tentacles around each other’s throats. In season six of the Showtime series, brilliant bipolar spook Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) thinks she has safely escaped the CIA vortex, only to be dragged into the whirlpool of a violent Washington power struggle that pits a female president-elect (yes, the show’s writers were just as fooled by Hillary Clinton’s “inevitability” as the rest of us) against a ruthless CIA faction aligned with a vast Breitbart News-type fake news operation. Nuclear peace in the Middle East hangs in the balance. Ho-hum. Like I said, art pales before reality in today’s Washington.

On Donald Trump & Women
A great post, but unfortunately this will not convince his core supporters to desert Trump, but could persuade those that are undecided not to vote for him and may be vote for Hillary Clinton.
Other than a swipe here and there, I’ve largely stayed silent on this American presidential election cycle, because for any thinking person, it’s entirely clear who the next President should not be.
Donald Trump supporters seem divorced from any sense of reality, particularity if those supporters are women. I don’t see how it’s possible to be an informed voter and be a Trump supporter. You have to choose one or the other; either bury your head in the sand or learn the facts. Once you have even some of the facts, it’s impossible to support him.
This is the American presidential election, not a reality show, but you’d never know it to look at the news. On Friday, another embarrassing Trump video was released. To me, the most cringe-inducing part of the video is not the “locker room” talk he and Billy Bush thought they were having in private, but…
