Trump reignites Puerto Rico feud amid Hurricane Dorian | TheHill

The president blasted San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz as “incompetent,” demeaned the island as “one of the most corrupt places on earth” and diverted Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds toward the southern border even as his administration is expected to provide assistance to the U.S. territory in the wake of yet another large-scale storm.

The moves mark a fresh chapter in the long-simmering feud between Trump and island officials stemming from criticism over his handling of the fallout from Hurricane Maria.

“Puerto Rico is one of the most corrupt places on earth,” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. “Their political system is broken and their politicians are either Incompetent or Corrupt. Congress approved Billions of Dollars last time, more than anyplace else has ever gotten, and it is sent to Crooked Pols. No good!….

It’s an ill hurricane that blows nobody good

What a tangled web they weave and those that suffer are the people of Puerto Rico.

There is more than a hint of corruption, which appears to start with the Governor of Puerto Rico, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and others. The Trump administration should, if they were concerned for the residents of Puerto Rico, a state of the US, look into this as there appears to be a serious fishy smell or hint of corruption. Trump himself could gain some credibility by having this investigated, but will he.

Donald Trump explains how he spoke with the ‘president of the Virgin Islands’…who is Donald Trump

Unpopular president Donald Trump continues his ugly American tour of our country and is finding out that there seem to be “minorities” all over the world! There are even these American territories filled with not billionaire New York elites! Having been on a tour of the recent American areas ravished by hurricanes and wild fires, Trump explained to an audience of muted homophobes that he had met and talked with the “president” of the “Virgin Islands.” The “president of the Virgin islands” is Donald Trump. He obviously meant Kenneth Mapp—the governor of the US Virgin Islands. And while it is being reported as a “gaff,” I would like to posit that this was less a general mistake and more of a freudian slip for Donald Trump is always and forever only talking to Donald Trump—even when he’s speaking to his children.
