Feminists criticise prison sentence for woman who murdered her rapist

Roxana Ruiz was jailed for six years for ‘excessive use of self-defence’ but campaigners said the unfair verdict lacked gender perspective

============================================

Roxana Ruiz was given a life sentence by her rapist attacker, but she eventually did kill him, a pity for Roxana did not kill him before he raped her.

Killing a rapist should be legal not a crime. Where are her Human Rights.

Woman who lied about being raped and drove three men to suicide attempts is jailed – Mirror Online

WARNING – GRAPHIC IMAGES: Three men who were falsely accused of rape by Eleanor Williams told the court the allegations caused them to attempt to take their own lives – she was jailed today

============================================

Eleanor Williams with her false accusations has not only created major problems for those she falsely accused, but also made it much more difficult for others to bring accusations of sexual incidents.

It has never be easy to start to report such events for numerous reasons and when doing so few ever get to court, let alone being proven.

Now with Eleanor Williams more likely fewer people will report due to them feeling by this case they will not be believed.

Eleanor has caused so much damage and distress not just for now, but for many years to come, so is an eight and a half years sentence sufficient, I say not has she has created a life-time sentence for many, so the eight and a half years needs to be considerably increased.

Emily Hunt felt powerless after CPS failed to charge man who filmed her naked and asleep. Now she advises UK government on sexual assault

============================================

Emily Hunt was initially let down by the system, but to her courage and inner strength she decided that she had to do more and thankfully some of her endeavours have produced some good results.

But, as Emily will know, much more needs to be done to ensure every women in the UK is respected and receives everything the Law currently stipulates.

However, as we see with the recent case of the now former Met Police Officer David Carrick, even though he pleaded guilty to many charges and was sentenced to serve more than 30 years in prison before he can be considered for release, much more is required. Carrick was given 36 life sentences for his 17-year campaign of terror. However, while a large sentence should it have been even more severe, especially as his victims have a full life time to live with the actions he committed.

Now we find this appears to be one of many actions done by some Met Officers and not only Met Officers, but in other forces and in other areas other than police. This is not even taking into account all the other actions done to women throughout the UK.

So much more needs to be done to ensure everyone in the UK is protected, and no one should ever be demeaned for reporting any such actions, be they of any gender, race, ethnicity, disability, etc.

The Law needs to be strengthened so much more and then ensure the police, CPS and the Courts fully implement the Law.

Emily showed great courage to do what she did and is still doing, but don’t leave it to just Emily, for we should all do whatever we can.

Rape survivor wins case against ‘cruel and inhumane’ state of Bolivia | Global development | The Guardian

An international court found that Brisa De Angulo, who was abused at 15, had her rights violated during the judicial process

============================================

This is a great result for Brisa and so hopefully for all women but will it, now that is for us all to see.

Women in many countries and not just in the Americas, but in many other countries around the World suffer greatly as in many of these countries males feel it is their Right to abuse women and in many instances treat women as though they have no Rights at all.

This should never have been so and we all need to bring pressure on any countries where abuses against women occur.

Transgender woman ‘raped two females with HER penis’ | The Scottish Sun

A TRANSGENDER woman has gone on trial accused of raping two females with “her penis”. Isla Bryson, 31, denies allegations at the High Court in Glasgow that she carried out two sex assau…

============================================

There are only brief details of these charges mentioned, but one aspect could be, when does consensual sexual actions become non-consensual actions, which could be when one of the parties’ concerns changes what they are wishing to do, and at that stage what was originally consented to has to stop.

To not stop could well lead to a charge of rape to occur.

As this case is still ongoing it is not possible to say what or didn’t occur.

Ukraine war: EU proposes UN-backed specialised court to probe alleged Russian war crimes | Euronews

The bloc has also proposed using Russian assets frozen under sanctions to help rebuild Ukraine.

===========================================

The alledged war crimes by Russian forces in Ukraine do, certainly need to be investigated and any proven crimes require the perpetrators fully punished.

Also the Russian assets frozen under sanctions should be used to rebuild Ukraine and also to compensate Ukrainian families for the indiscrminate killing and injury to Ukrainian civilians.

Nothing should be given back to Russia.

Abortion: The story of suffering and death behind Ireland’s ban and subsequent legalization

In 1983, a constitutional referendum outlawed abortion in Ireland. In 2018, another referendum repealed the ban and legalized abortion during the first trimester of pregnancy. What happened?

============================================

Pro-life and religion is not always totally maintaining life, as by banning abortions, this, in some, instances be the cause of the loss of life of the mother to be, so in all cases, it should be viewed on an individual basis and not a blanket judgement. As a blanket judgement to maintain the life of an unborn child, can be the cause of the death of the intended mother, as was the case in the death of Savita Halappanavar.

It is also, always the case of insisting on the rights of one will impinge on the rights of another and could also cause health issues, many, which could be long standing.

I am not advocating abortion on demand, as the to be mother and, if , necessary, the to be father, should be made aware of all the relevant facts about having an abortion or not on the question of the health of both the intending baby and the to be mother. Pro-life and religion should not be factors as that should be down to the personal discretion of the intended mother and father, and should not be the business of other parties.

Where abortions are to be done, there should also be full rights of access for the ladies who are considering abortion, so objectors to abortions not connected to the ladies should not be allowed anywhere near the clinics concerned as approaching a clinic is stressful enough without any interference from anti-abortionists adding to the stress.

Human rights should be respected and this includes the ladies considering abortions for it is after all their bodies which are in the process.

Many argue that if you don’t wish to give birth then don’t involve in the acts of conception, but some may not have been given a choice, especially with rape, trafficking and grooming.

The human rights of women need to be given great consideration and not ignored, as to not to do so is giving access to abuse.

Thousands of protesters hit streets across the US and begin to mass outside Clarence Thomas’ home | Daily Mail Online

The prospective law changes, released in a concurring opinion Friday’s decision by the justice, would see limits put on gay marriage, same-sex activity, and citizens’ access to birth control.

===========================================

With the overthrow of Roe v Wade the Supreme Court have made America no longer the ‘Land of the Free’, if it ever was.

You may argue that if women don’t wish to have babies, then they should not undertake actions in which they could become pregnant, but do they really have that choice in respect of RAPE and maybe incest. If men could be able to carry an unborn baby and then give birth, then maybe abortions may not be necessary, but in those instances a rapist would need to be caught in time.

As now women are not free to live their lives as they wish to and while the abolition of abortion rights is bad enough that may not be the last actions against freedoms from this Supreme Court. For now they could move onto birth control, same sex marriage, LGBTQ rights and many more, for religion and politics have no place in dealing with legalities, but Human Rights have.

Not only is it withdrawing human rights, but are, in effect, creating situations where the health of women will be of grave risk and could be a cause of their deaths.

To do so the Supreme Court will, in many respects, be equal to the Taliban and other Islamic zealots, for Christian zealots are just as bad as Islamic zealots, if not more so.

The Supreme Court are, in effect, abusing women by withdrawing their rights, for now there is no equality in America.

Russia-Ukraine war: Fate of Europe and global security being decided in Ukraine, Zelenskiy says– live | Ukraine | The Guardian

Russian foreign minister says western weapons are a ‘legitimate target’; about 15,000 Russian troops have been killed since start of invasion, UK defence secretary says

============================================

Russia needs to understand war, for they do not, they assume all they do is allowed, but what others do is not.

They believe only them are allowed to invade countries whenever they wish and cause destruction, but the countries they invade should not retaliate in similar measures .

They can obtain armaments from whom is prepared to provide armaments to them, but the country they invaded should not and countries should not provide armaments to the invaded country.

Russia also believes that everything and everybody in the invaded country can be destroyed and people killed and injured whereas civilians and their property should be safeguarded as much as possible.

But Russia is way misguided for they believe everyone is afraid of them, but by invading Ukraine they have shown their armed forces are not as strong or as fearful as they believed, but they are extremely undisciplined, as they feel they are allowed to rape, torture and then kill as many women  as they wish to.

Putin continues to threaten that he will use his nuclear weapons, but does he realise that if he does others will retaliate with their own nuclear weapons thereby causing wide spread nuclear contamination all over.

Is Putin so stupid, perhaps he is. and why are many in Russia so gullible, as families in Ukraine with relatives in Russia are finding the that their Russian relatives are believing Putin rather than their Ukrainian relatives. Perhaps Putin’s propaganda is so much more effective than its armed forces.

Many Ukrainian civilians, including children have been forcibly taken from Ukraine and took to Russia in the guise that they are being liberated, will they ever be found again.

Every country needs to work as one and supply Ukraine will all they wish for and stop purchasing any goods from Russia, for any payment, especially in Roubles is effectively working against Ukrainians. Buy paying Russia just one Rouble is one Rouble too many and any country doing so, is as guilty as Russia.

Putin and the Russian armed forces are already committing many War Crimes, with many more being committed every day. Both Putin and those Russian armed forces need to be held accountable and brought before the Court Of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Oklahoma votes for total abortion ban and penalties for doctors | The BMJ

The Oklahoma state legislature has passed a bill banning abortion “except to save the life of a pregnant woman in a medical emergency” and penalising healthcare personnel who perform or attempt to perform an abortion with fines and jail time.

1Republican state governor Kevin Stitt has promised to sign every bill limiting abortion.2 The bill will go into effect this summer, 90 days after the end of the current legislative session……..

============================================

So, the ‘land of the free’, is not as free as it was, especially for women who are pregnant.

It takes, at least 2 to become pregnant but nothing is being done to men, but is to the choice of women.

So, an act of minutes can lead to a lifetime for women. It was a long time fight to gain abortion through Roe-v-Wade, where the Supreme  Court said it was  ‘the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction’. But now in Oklahoma and some other States, it appears that they are against the Constitution on the whim of political intrusion and maybe some religious involvement.

The feelings of women are not being considered, surely they have rights of their own body. In some States not even rape is a consideration, perhaps women should abandon these States or even America itself and go to reside in other countries which respect the rights of women better.
