‘He’s really dangerous’: fear as Wagner convict soldiers return from Ukraine | Russia | The Guardian

Murderers and other hardened criminals among those recruited by Russian mercenary group in exchange for freedom

============================================

Putin in his relentless invasion of Ukraine is causing so many problems, for while his invasion is causing much death, injury, and destruction in Ukraine for Ukrainians he is also creating many problems for Russians also.

Now you may say why should we be bothered, but many Russian civilians are innocents too, for with Putin’s hold on power the Russian population has no real power to overthrow him, especially while he has the military with him and the secret forces around him.

While this has been so for many years, his desire to win and considerable injuries and killing of Russian forces by Ukrainian forces are really decimating the strength and numbers of the Russian forces, so to supplement this Putin decided that Russian convicts could be pardoned if they volunteered for the Wagner forces, a private military company tied to the businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Should these convicts survive six months in Ukraine, which many are not doing, they will be pardoned and allowed to go to where they wish to in Russia. These convicts are very hardened criminals who were sentenced to very long periods due to the serious crimes they committed. many will return to where they committed their crimes and so will be free to commit more crimes, but also to punish those who gave evidence to ensure they were found guilty. These people felt they would be safe for many years to come, but not now and many are fearing for their lives and for those of their families.

These families are just as innocent as the persons in Ukraine and while the persons in Ukraine are being protected as best as can be, the innocents in Russia will have no protections.

So for the innocents of Ukraine and Russia, Putin has to be defeated, and the sooner the better, therefore the Western countries which are supporting Ukraine with armaments need to urgently provide more armaments, and if this includes jet fighters and others then so be it. The sooner these armaments are provided the sooner Putin will be defeated.

For it is not just for Ukraine and Russia that Putin needs to be defeated, but for all the other countries which border Russia and others nearby. For if Putin wins in Ukraine no one will be safe and this includes Germany, UK, France, Belgium, in fact, any country in the World.

Ukraine is locked in a war with corruption as well as Putin – it can’t afford to lose either | Orysia Lutsevych | The Guardian

High-profile resignations highlight the nation’s struggle to prove to the world it is not corrupt, says Orysia Lutsevych, head of Ukraine Forum at Chatham House

============================================

That is so true, and we all need Ukraine to win both, or at least the war with Russia.

As Putin has to be defeated, so that is the war, but if, corruption does continue will the peace last, perhaps not.

Russian anger grows over strike that killed dozens of troops in Ukraine | Euronews

Kyiv claimed that as many as 400 Russian soldiers died and 300 more were injured in the incident which happened at a temporary barracks in eastern Donetsk region.

============================================

Any deaths are regrettable but in a war military targets are seen as legitimate, but civilians are not. So the Ukrainian attack on the temporary barracks in the eastern Donetsk region is acceptable but the Russian attacks on civilians are not.

So, Grigory Karasin, a member of the Russian Senate and former deputy foreign minister should be directing his anger and comments to whom is responsible and that is Russian President Vladimir Putin for declaring the illegal invasion of Ukraine. If he wishes no more dead Russians then that is easy to do, just remove all Russian troops from every part of Ukraine, stop all activities against Ukraine and then recognise Ukraine for the independent country it is.

Very few trusted Russia before the invasion of Ukraine and now no one will trust Russia ever again. and the blame rests fair and square with Vladimir Putin who is certainly no friend of Russia and is the real enemy of Russia and the population of Russia.

Putin is the abuser and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

Also the Russian population needs to have their Human Rights restored.

Three dead as explosions rock Russian airbase housing Putin’s nuclear bombers – World News – Mirror Online

Three people have reportedly died and more hospitalised after a Ukrainian kamikaze drone reportedly hit an airbase deep inside Russia used to house Vladimir Putin’s nuclear bombers

==========================================

So what, at least it’s a legitimate military target which is more than can be said for Putin’s and the Russian forces targeting of Ukrainian civilians and civilian structures which are ‘War crimes’ for which Putin needs to be punished.

Ukraine war: Russia ‘ready to negotiate’ claims Vladimir Putin | Euronews

A senior adviser to Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy said Russia “doesn’t want negotiations, but tries to avoid responsibility.”

==========================================

To obtain a Peace agreement Putin needs to do a full withdrawal from all areas of Ukraine as stated in the Budapest memorandum and also for any remaining Russian wealth to be used to rebuild what he and his Russian forces have destroyed. He also has to surrender himself so that he can be tried for the horrendous War Crimes being conducted in his name by his Russian forces within Ukraine,

As was Germany after WWII, Russia needs to be stripped of its right to hold any forces which could be used to engage in any future aggressive actions and to relinquish all its seats in the UN Security Council.

Nothing less.

Explosions heard at Russia’s Engels air base hundreds of miles from Ukraine’s front lines; Putin says west trying to ‘tear apart’ Russia

===========================================

Russia or more correctly Putin is acting as though it is a colonial power and wishes to recreate the old Russian Empire and is not respecting the rights of individual nations to govern themselves.

Ukraine, a former state within Russia under went many changes over the years, but Russia agreed to the independence of Ukraine under the terms of the so-called Budapest memorandum in 1994 in exchange for them disgarding the nuclear weapons that Ukraine  had in their possession.

However, Putin has ignored the Budapest memorandum in his haste to recreate the Russian Empire and in doing so has once again shown that Russia can’t be trusted.

Colonialism was always wrong, no matter which country was engaging in it, for each and every country who followed colonialism did so by disrespecting the rights and lives for the persons already living in the countries taken over and plundered the minerals within those countries to increase the wealth their wealth at the expense of the countries taken over and the interests of the native residents.

Putin is doing all he can by his invading Russian forces to destroy Ukraine and it population. Yes, there are many in Ukraine of, so called Russian descent, but many of them are also being killed and injured in the indiscriminate actions of the Russian forces, as well as many native Ukrainians.

Putin feelds he can destroy all he wishes to and then objects when Ukrainian forces retaliate, if he does not wish areas of the current Russia to be destroyed then he needs to do a full withdrawal from all areas of Ukraine as stated in the Budapest memorandum and also the use of any remaining Russian wealth to be used to rebuild what he and his Russian forces have destroyed.

In the ‘Bakhmut meat grinder’, deadlocked enemy forces slog it out | Ukraine | The Guardian

Ukrainians have the technical advantage but Russians persist in sacrificing troops to take an area with no strategic value

===========================================

The illogical affects and logistics of War, where will it end, only in more unnecessary deaths and injuries of both Ukrainian and Russian forces.

In ages gone by the effectrive leaders of countries were either on the front lines or very nearby their own forces, but not in these days of Modern Warfare. Would Putin have been so eager to invade Ukraine if he had been in-person with his Russian forces, I believe not. He is so free to engage his forces while he remains in the very much safety of the Kremlin, for he will not even meet in very close proximinity with his advisors in the Kremlin, he is so much a ‘paper tiger’, scared of even his own shadow.

Macron blasted for saying Moscow needs ‘security guarantees’ to end the Ukraine war | Euronews

His comments on French TV on Saturday have already drawn criticism from some quarters.

============================================

It is not Putin and Russia that nrrds guarantees but all the countries that border Russia for no country is safe while Putin is President and who knows who comes after him.

But Ukraine has had guarantees previously and Putin ignored them.

Putin and Macron have to understand that NATO is a defensive alliance and will not attack any country unless a NATO member country has been attacked.

So Russia has no problems with NATO only Putin.

Putin needs to get all his forces out of Ukraine and keep them only in Russia.

Yes, defensive weapons may be deployed to face Russia, but that is because no one trusts Russia or exactly those in power in Russia has history has shown. These weapons would never be used if Russian forces or its weapons were retained in Russia, even better if Russia was completely disarmed as Germany was after WWII, until it learned its lesson.

NATO meets to talk Ukraine at scene of one of its most controversial decisions | Euronews

In 2008, NATO promised that Ukraine and Georgia could join the western military alliance. Russia invaded the latter four months later.

============================================

We all know that Russia can’t be trusted and even more the Russian President Vladimir Putin. For it is his sole wish to not only recreate the Soviet Union, but the Russian Empire.

So, while Putin is around no country in the previous Eastern Europe is safe from Russian invasion, so everyting needs to be done to safeguard the independence of all countries.

Many of these countries are now members of NATO and many others wish to join, but NATO is there as a defensive organisation not as an aggressive one, so all Putin needs  to do is leave every independent country alone and not invade anyone on the pretext that he is safeguarding Russia from NATO invasion, which will not ever occur unless Putin instructs his forces to invade first.

This he did with Crechnia, Georgia, Crimea and now East Ukraine, now none of these areas were in NATO although some wished to be, so Putin got in first or so he thought, but his last invasion could well be his undoing for Ukraine was not going to let Putin’s invasion of East Ukraine without challenging, with the help of Western arms aid, but not Western forces. This aid needs to be continued and much increased to safeguard further invasions by Putin. For if Putin suceeds in the invasion and defeats Ukraine, it will not be long before he embarks on further conquests. So, it is more than essential that the aid is continued and be greatly increased, as Putin only understands power, previously his own assumed power, but now the power of the West in supporting Ukraine with weapons.

He knows he and Russia is no match for the combined West and he will go to any lengths to undermine the West. The West have no wish to harm Russia, but while Russia is controlled by Putin they have no choice and that is why sanctions have been imposed, but they will never invade Russia, unless Putin is foolish and he starts to invade a country in the NATO alliance.

Yes, he could instigate a Nuclear Strike, but, if he does this would immediately trigger a Western Nuclear Strike against Russia, from which Russia would never recover from, so Putin would then be responsible for the annihilation of Russia, which he has no wish to be.

So, the West needs to continue supporting Ukraine with arms to push Russian troops out of all Ukraine and that will be Putin’s humiliation and his eventual downfall. But when this occurs Russia will still have to be watched for whom will be the new President of Russia, lets hope not another aggressor like Putin.

But it is not just the Russian invasion of Ukraine, for there are many war crimes being found in the formerly Russian occupied parts of East Ukraine, which have been done to Ukrainian residents by Russian forces.

So, it is not just the defeat of Russian forces in Ukraine, but the prosecution of those Russian forces responsible for commiting the war crimes which has to be dealt with, with the final responsibilty down to the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine: what might happen if the war spreads to a Nato country

Article 5 of the Nato treaty calls for collective defence if a member nation is attacked.

============================================

These are very worrying times, not only for Ukraine and the surrounding former Soviet Territories, but in effect the whole World and especially the rest of Europe.

For years Putin has been allowed to get away with murder of innocent individuals and destruction of civilian infrastructure. But as this was,  mainly, outside of Europe and America it was generally ignored by the Western World, except for some general comments and actions which were never to be taken.

Now we have seen the cost of that in Ukraine, but before it was in Crimea and some areas of assumed Russian supporting areas of Ukraine. Putin took this as a weakness of the West and NATO and lead him to believe he could and can get away with anything he wishes to do, which he has been allowed to do for many years.

Now it appears that NATO is ready to act should he encroach on any NATO countries, but that is still to be seen if they will. For, if they don’t what will be the use of NATO.

Putin is also threatening the use of nuclear weapons and some chemical and other weapons and if he does, what will NATOs response be, even if they are only used within the borders of Ukraine.

NATO should leave him in no doubt that any escalating of the Ukraine war will cause NATO into action against Putin. Unfortunately, any actions against Putin, will also mean that the actions will be felt by the Russian population, who are also innocents in all this.

It will not end this conflict, but Putin’s actions are to all purposes ‘War Crimes’ and these need to be fully investigated and brought before the International Court of Justice in The Hauge.

There are also reports that Ukrainian women are also being violated, by acts of rape from the Russian forces.

The Human Rights of Ukrainians are being violated, not only by Putin, but also some of the Russian invaders.

Putin’s actions are not the actions of a sane person, but, if he is mentally unstable that is no excuse and he needs to be brought to justice as should others who have carried out his orders.
