There is now a global debate focused on all those nations who built their wealth by denying black people humanity, says Guardian columnist Afua Hirsch

Yes, reparation should be the order of the day, in fact, it should have been many days previously.
Slavery is or should be abhorrent in any language. How can any supposed Christian have ever considered, in any way, to be involved with slavery.
While no amount of money or any other assistance can ever right these wrongs it would show that eventually the wrongs have been recognised for the wrongs they were and are.
For from these wrongs stems the actions of racism, which again should not be occurring by anyone to anyone.
The colour of ones skin or gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc should not be a means to determine how a person or group of persons should be treated or viewed for in effect we are all the same and all should be treated as being equal to each other.
To treat anyone differently due to a persons origins is a form of racism and should never be tolerated and be illegal.
